| IDENTIFICATION: Black ant 1/4 inch or larger TRAITS: Carpenter ants chew-DO NOT EAT wood to create housing. Only 10% merge daily to gather food and water for others in a nest. Their primary food source are insects. Carpenter ants are found near water (around sinks), requiring 1/4/ their body weight in water daily. They are primarily active at night during the summer months. Over time these ants cause SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TREATMENT: General uses a residual, undetectable formula (available only to licensed technicians). It is applied to the areas that the ants travel (ie: baseboards, under sinks, in basements). The ants DO NOT die instantly. They absorb this material slowly and will die hours later. The ants carry the insecticide back to their nests on their bodies and it is then transferred to other ants in the colonies. Only a small % of ants emerge daily. Each day a new group will take another dose to the nests and over the course of the treatment, it will wipe out any ants nesting inside your home or business. In addition to the interior application, the exterior is treated-creating a chemical barrier for new ants that are constantly being attracted by old scents trails. The process requires two (2) interior applications, as well as two (2) exterior applications. This will kill any ants that are established inside and prevent new ones from nesting throughout the season.
